Dextrin Resist Fabrics |
Dextrin resist
fabric is created by spreading a layer of warm layer of potato dextrin paste over
stretched fabric. As the dextrin cools it shrinks and produces a pattern of random
cracks. Thicken dye is hand painted into these cracks. After the dye has set
the dextrin layer is removed from the fabric revealing the dyed crackle pattern. This time
consuming process produces one of a kind designs. |
